2009 has been memorable! Not for big moments but for all of the small ones. This year was full of love, happiness, growth, adventure, prosperity, family, friends, work, accomplishment, and hope. God has blessed Pete and I so much throughout our lives and we are beginning to learn more and more how NOT to take it for granted.
This year we bought a Jeep Commander, Ford Bronco, Canon Xsi, Dell Studio Laptop, Nintendo Wii, bathtub, LowVein Mining hat, NIV Bible, tickets to Ripley's Aquarium, Trip down the river in TN, movie tickets, MP3 players, snacks for our church kiddos, Chinese food, and plenty of Gas and Groceries. Without the favor and blessings of God none of those things would be possible.
To our family was added a cousin, (a beautiful baby girl), Jalynn Marie Kennedy Carter, a husband (Josh Smith) to Kayla Ann Rice Smith, a wife (Erica Adams) to Nick Keck, and the adoption of Mattae Danielle Keck, Tyler Matthew Keck, and Haley Madison Keck. The crew just gets bigger and happier.
We all experienced the occasional cold and stomach virus but no sickness proved to big or too small for my God. This year we celebrated 8 years since dad's battle with Colon Cancer and I enjoy each moment that I spend with him. Love you Daddy.
I got to travel to Atlanta twice this year and the experience was unique each time. The first was a drive to Atlanta for our company meeting with a stop off in Pigeon Forge, TN with the ladies in the office. We all have the desire and talent to shop so it was the Tanger Outlets for us and a nights stay that the Inn at the Christmas Place. It was a great experience even the 8 hour drive their and back was excellent. I am blessed to be apart of such a great group of women. You can veiw pics at my Shutterfly sight. thisiswhatiseeshawnnasview.shutterfly.com
My second trip to Atlanta was quiet different. I flew in a private jet with the president of the company, my partner in crime (not really crime....LOL) Steven Duty and my VP Doug. It was a great trip and the pilots are excellent. I was privileged to spend time with other workers from around the country and eat out at some great places. Some pics of that trip are on my picaso web album.
In September my awesome, sweet and loving sister became a momma by way of adoption. We are so blessed by the addition of three wonderful kids and we are so excited for what God has in store for us.
This year Pete and I teamed up with Debbie Lafferty and started teaching the Middle School Children at church. It has been great but we are planning for a big year in 2010.
Christmas was great this year and to add to the excitement of tinsel and lights there was a huge snow storm that knocked out my mom and sisters phone, tv, and electricity for 6 days. They were FORCED to bunk at my house that whole time. It was truly a great experience. Pete and I would not care a bit to have them over permanently. Well at least I wouldn't mind...jk!
This year I did get some special moments volunteering. I worked with my church (Regional Church in Delbarton,WV) and Jamie Carte Ministries as we brought in a Feed the Children Truck full of food and cleaning supplies. We also provided hair cuts for the kids going back to school, health checks for all, back packs and supplies for school children, and the gospel of Jesus Christ was given to all in attendance. I also volunteered with Special Olympics in Logan County. It was awesome! This has become an annual event for me and I hope to continue for many more years to come. There are pics on my Shutterfly site of that as well.
I have had an awesome year and I look forward to the many years to come. With God's grace, provision and power I know that I will be blessed in all things.
May you all know and acknowledge your Heavenly Father and may each of you know Christ as your savior.
Signing out for the year of 2009!
